Welcome AFC Newbury Boys is a community-focused youth football club providing football to more than 300 boys from Newbury and its surrounding towns and villages. For the 2006-07 season AFC Newbury Boys will run several small-sided or full-sided football squads covering every age group from under 7’s to under 18’s, and Newbury Football now has a youth squad also. Run by a committed team of volunteer officers, managers, coaches & helpers, our aim is to provide football for all, irrespective of race, religion, creed, colour or ability, in a friendly and positive setting to build skills, team spirit and self-esteem. We are committed to creating and preserving the safest possible environment for children to play football. The Club is affiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA and has been awarded the FA Charter Standard. This scheme sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people. All our coaches and managers have undertaken the FA Level 1 club coach qualification as a minimum, and have been security checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). The club's squads compete in the South Chiltern Minor League, the Peter Houseman Youth League and the North East Hants League. Matches are normally on a Sunday, with training once a week in addition. We are sponsored by Vodafone and have recently received a grant from Greenham Common Trust. For information about our other sponsors click here. |
